Introduction
Feng Shui
translates literally as wind and water. Chinese
geomancy, known in ancient times as KanYu, is said to be over
5000 years old. Feng Shui comes from the I-Ching (The Book of
Changes) and is grounded
in the Five Element Theory. It is the art and science of harmonizing
the person with their environment and heavenly influences. This
is done with the knowledge of landforms that gather and retain
Chi, by the selection of a site in an auspicious
location in accordance with the energies present. A living
or work environment is then designed, in which the presence of
the most beneficial Chi connects the energies of Heaven and
Earth with the person. This connection is enhanced by the
placement of objects within the house to create the best flow of
benevolent Chi, the best balance of Yin and Yang, the most auspicious use of space in accordance with
energies present,
and by
mitigating negative energies and
enhancing positive energies.
In Classical Feng
Shui the Astrology of the building is also linked with the
astrology of the person.
Although Feng Shui
can be linked with all three aspects of the San Cai (3
treasures-Heavenly, Humanity & Earthly branches) its closest
association is with the Earth or physical aspect.
The universe is a
vast field of energy. Feng Shui is the study of this energy and
how it moves through the universe and affects us directly and
indirectly. There are different kinds of energies that exist in
our surroundings. Some of them are good energies and some may
bring misfortune.
Feng Shui, the art
& science of living and working in the right environment, is
concerned with the FLOW & CIRCULATION of vital energy called
Chi and is the interplay of the Yin and Yang
within the five elements (Earth, Water, Wood, Metal, Fire).
Feng Shui is the
INTERTWINING of PEOPLE, PLACES & and ENERGIES.
Our home is an
expression of who we are. It may support and nurture us or
manifest the obstructions in our life.
As we become aware
of the unseen language of energies emanating from our
surroundings, by applying the knowledge of Feng Shui, these
energies can be rearranged for our benefit.
These energy
changes can greatly improve how we feel about ourselves, by
energizing our desire to ‘Make life better’.
Our home can then
become more than a ‘Garage for our body’ it
becomes ‘An oasis for the soul’
Why "Classical Feng Shui" ?
There is a lot of confusion about
the different schools and methods of Feng Shui. The most
frequent question is "Which Feng Shui approach is the right one
? ".
There are three main schools of
thought:
-
Black Sect - Non traditional based on Tibetan
spirituality, Does not use compass readings
-
New
Age- Non classical, such as intuitive
or pyramid approach.
-
Classical - Traditional Feng Shui
My expertise
is in Classical Feng Shui, the ancient art and
science, the only practice that applies the formulas and
methodologies successfully used in Asia for thousands of years.
Classical
Feng Shui deals with the two main aspects of Time
and Space. Under this umbrella we find the
traditional Form School that studies the effects
of land forms and space on our well being. The Compass
School with methods like Flying Star, 8
Mansions, and the East/West system.
What can Feng Shui do for you ?
To be in the right place at the right time, doing the right
thing and being in harmony with nature is what we want to
achieve in
Feng Shui.
Good Feng Shui requires us to be close to the water and
sheltered from the wind and to take advantage of the life giving
Sheng Chi
(the good energy) when
Yin
and
Yang
forces are balanced.
The aim of
Feng Shui
Design and Architecture is to gather the
Chi
so we can have good feelings about our environment and affection
towards each other. When we feel good at home and at work, we
will be
Happy,
Healthy
and
Prosperous.
When the
Feng Shui
of a space is improved, changes take place which are noticeable
and often dramatic.
Negative or harmful energy can be eliminated and replaced by
energy that is positive and beneficial.
Areas of life that are experiencing problems or that are just
not progressing, can be helped to move forward. This includes
romance, business and a successful career, health, creative
pursuits, education, prosperity, publicity, fame, family
harmony, children's development, and spiritual growth.
